Community

Cultivating relationship and connection to battle isolation and loneliness.

In a recent survey by Cigna, 43% of people say they feel isolated from others.

This growing sense of disconnection is a warning sign—not just for society at large, but for the church. God is a communal God, revealed in the Trinity and in His desire to dwell among His people. From the beginning, He designed us to live in relationship, not isolation.

We believe community with God and each other in its healthiest forms is vital for building lasting wellness. But healthy community doesn’t happen by default—it must be cultivated intentionally. The church has a unique opportunity and responsibility to be a place where people experience belonging, healing, and purpose. When we prioritize emotional, spiritual, and relational health within our congregations, we reflect the heart of God and create environments where people can truly thrive.

Community health in the church is more than fellowship—it’s about creating spaces of safety, authenticity, and mutual care. It means addressing mental health, supporting one another through life’s challenges, and fostering rhythms of rest and connection. When churches invest in the well-being of their people, they become beacons of hope in a fragmented world.

Now more than ever, the church must lead the way in restoring community. By modeling vulnerability, practicing Sabbath, and nurturing deep relationships, we can counter the epidemic of isolation and build communities that embody the love and presence of Christ.
